Dr. Özüm Sezin Uzun (PhD)

Dr. Özüm Sezin Uzun graduated from Bilkent University (Ankara, Türkiye) with a degree in International Relations. She earned her Master’s degree in International Politics, with a specialization in Nonproliferation, from the Monterey Institute of International Studies (MIIS) in California, USA, which is now known as the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey. She later completed her PhD in International Relations at Middle East Technical University (Ankara, Türkiye).

Since 2013, Dr. Uzun has served as a faculty member at various universities, teaching core courses in International Relations and Middle Eastern politics. Between 2014 and 2019, she was the Vice Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences at İstanbul Aydın University, where she also held the  UNESCO Chair on Education for Sustainable Peace from 2016 to 2019. In 2021, she earned the academic title of Associate Professor.

Currently, Dr. Uzun teaches online courses at multiple universities and is the founder of the Urla Institute of International Studies (UIIS). UIIS develops and leads projects and offers educational modules on a variety of fields at both national and international levels, catering to professionals, students, and corporate clients.

Kubilay Uzun

Kubilay Uzun graduated from the Air Force Academy in 1993 and earned his wings in 1995. He served as a fighter pilot, operating the F-4 and F-16, until 2012. Following his military career, he joined Turkish Airlines, where he worked as a co-pilot, captain, and type rating instructor between 2012 and 2019.

In 2019, he returned to the Turkish Air Force for a second term of service, instructing on the KT-1T at Çiğli Air Base. He retired as a Brigadier General and now continues to train both civilian and military pilots.
